5 Reasons to go to Brazil
Brazil is the largest country in South America, and the world’s fifth largest country in both geographical size and population. It remains a hugely popular destination for travellers and tourists alike thanks to its sunshine and tireless party spirit. Rio de Janeiro, the second largest city in Brazil after Sao Paulo, remains a prime attraction for visitors all over the world. Considered one of the most beautiful cities in South America, it is located in Guanabara Bay in south-eastern Brazil.
The Brazilian economy has grown significantly over the past decade, which means that cities like Rio and Sao Paulo can be a good deal more expensive for tourists than the rest of Brazil, and indeed the rest of South America. That growth has slowed a little lately, but Brazil is about to receive an enormous boost to its tourism industry with the 2014 FIFA World Cup, which will take place from 12 June to 13 July 2014 in 12 cities across Brazil.
You may or may not be crazy about soccer, but Brazil is a fantastic place to visit for hundreds of reasons. For simplicity we’ve come up with just five excellent reasons to go to Brazil:
The people. For us, this has to be the number one reason to travel to Brazil. Brazilians are without doubt among the warmest, most-fun loving people in the world. Making friends here couldn’t be easier – Brazilians are incredibly friendly and will invite you into their homes without a moment’s hesitation. Perhaps it’s the sunshine, maybe it’s the beautiful beaches, maybe it’s even the Cachaça – but one thing’s for sure; you’re guaranteed a sunny welcome.
The weather. Pretty much the whole of Brazil is warm the entire year round, with summer running from January until March – which makes it a perfect getaway for those eager to escape the cold and dark winter. Combine this climate with thousands of miles of beautiful beach, clear blue skies, and you can see why Brazil is a first-choice destination for sun-seekers. Just don’t forget your sun screen!
The party culture. Brazilians love to celebrate. Most have heard of the world-famous Carnaval, but the truth is that Brazilians need no excuse to have fun. Whatever the occasion, they will turn it into a party – Samba dancing and Caipirinhas optional. Brazilians love to live in the moment, and the longer you stay in Brazil, the more the party spirit will get into your bones.
The beaches. With 5000 miles of coastline, Brazil has many of the finest beaches in the world. Palm trees, clear blue sea, fine white sand guaranteed. We recommend cool coconut milk to refresh you as you soak up the sun. Some of the best beaches in Brazil include Alter do Chao, Pará, Praia do Toque, Alagoas and Caraiva, Bahia.
The rainforests. The Amazon rainforest spans several countries in South America, but most of it lies in Brazil. Covering a vast 2,700,000 square miles, the rainforest is home to millions of insect, animal and plant species. We thoroughly recommend that you experience this stunning natural paradise during your time in Brazil.
