Viventura is an international company where personal service comes first – to create the best possible vacation experience for our clients is a huge part of our philosophy. That is the main reason why we have decided to bring our global offices together in one location for November.

Our team currently consists of almost 70 people from 12 different nationalities and it is not an easy task to relocate everybody along with their virtual desks. But luckily, we have our own in-house experts for near-impossible logistics who managed to move our offices from Berlin, Cusco, La Paz, Quito, Lima, Medellín, Santiago, and Tampa, Florida to Brazil with great success for the month.

Previously Costa Rica was on the agenda and this time around we have gathered in one of the most stunning countries that South America has to offer. For three weeks our teams from Viventura, Euroventura, and our latest addition to the family, Puraventura, have joined forces here in the Brazilian sun. Our new home is Arraial do Cabo, a charming fishing village and premier dive destination two hours east of Rio de Janeiro. While a small town, it has already played a big part in history as it was discovered and founded by Amigo Vespucci in 1503.

With most of our clients flying to and in South America with LATAM Airlines (Lan and TAM), we were glad to also travel with them via save and comfortable flights to Rio. Some team members have arrived not only with their laptops but also their kids in tow, some brought their diving equipment and the marketing department even brought a drone and several cameras for new video productions.

Luckily the wonderful staff of Hotel Praia Dos Anjos doesn’t mind to go with the flow and us taking over the lobby, the patio and the breakfast room. Mobile offices have popped up everywhere because our stay in Brazil is more than an incentive and team building exercise. While giving employees the chance to discover one of our featured countries themselves, this gathering is a chance to work side by side with colleagues from other offices.  Especially getting together with those we usually only ‘meet’ via Skype or email is an exciting change. While regular work hours are in place, the day goes by a bit easier when surrounded by greenery and the sound of the ocean. And, of course, there is enough time to explore the surroundings and the best that Brazil has to offer: surf and capoeira lessons, Zumba classes and dive excursions can be enjoyed as well as açaí smoothies and churrasco, the typical Brazilian barbecue.

Why we do it you may ask. With trips like this we want to improve how we work together so we can do the best job for our clients. While we love how technology connects our offices all over the world, nothing beats proximity. There is nothing like actually sitting next to a colleague to speak, laugh and brainstorm without a screen.

These interactions in a somewhat more intimate office setting open new channels of communications and space for creativity. With that comes an exchange of ideas and a whole new kind of work experience. All of this, so we can constantly improve our service. That also includes the details of each tour, especially our prices so that you can get the best trip possible for your money. And, of course, we wanted our employees to have the chance to taste a real, Brazilian caipirinha.
